What is your Annual Licensing for?

The annual licensing fee covers:

  1. Customer support from 8:30am to 5pm EST on workdays.   A real human actually answers the phone and helps you with your support issue.
  2. Upgrades to the Clarity Console tools you have licensed.  We add new technology regularly.  For example, one of the more recent upgrades was the addition of new and easier ways to format text in the Clarity Console tools.  You can check it out at www.Clarity-Connect.com/TextFormatting.
  3. Continued use of the Clarity Console tools.  If you don’t have content management tools to update your site, most (if not all) web companies charge you to make updates because one of their developers will be making the changes.  So not only do you have that expense, you have the time delay associated with you e-mailing or calling in your changes and then they developer has to put it into the 'to do' pile and get to it as soon as they can.  Most of our customers actually end up spending less on annual licensing as compared to payments to their existing web company for updates. Additionally, with the tools, you can make your updates immediately and don’t need to wait for the ‘webmaster’ to make the desired changes.  Be sure to check with other web companies to find out what they charge for updates.

If you feel like you are not using the Console Tools frequently enough to justify the annual licensing fee, we can turn off access to your Console back office and you can e-mail us the desired changes you need.  You’ll have a full year to evaluate and use the tools to decide upon the value of the Console tools.

What fonts are typically considered "web-safe?"

The web-safe fonts are: Most of these fonts are also available in bold and italic.

What type of font should I use on my website?

Using fonts that aren't common on both PC and MAC platforms is risky. It is best to use a generic alternative such as Arial, Times New Roman, Geneva, Palatino, Verdana, Trebuchet MS, or Tahoma. If you are using a specialty font, for example a cursive, you should be aware that the effect you are going for will most likely not be seen by most of your users.

By far the two most common types of fonts currently used on the Web are the serif font, Times New Roman and the sans serif font, Arial.

Do I have to host my site with Clarity if you design it?

Yes. If you wish to continue to use the Clarity Console content management tools, the site must be hosted by CCI.
