User Manager

This tool controls access to areas of your site that require logins.

Use this tool to control access to secure areas of your website such as wholesale pricing, customer only documents, online ordering (can list products prior to login, but only allow purchasing post login), etc.

If you implement online ordering, you can also click the "Allowed to Purchase on Terms" check box which would then allow them to finalize and submit an order without entering credit card information. Upon successful login (e-mail address and corresponding password) the system will recognize them as "on account" customers. They will be able to place orders on line and at "checkout," confirm ship to, bill to, and enter a PO number and order comments.

There can be multiple login types (retail customer, staff, wholesale customer, etc.) and different information can be displayed by login type. The tool can also be customized to have customer specific information displayed with individual logins.

The fields associated with the tool are:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Company Name
  • e-mail address
  • login
  • password
  • Street Address
  • City
  • State
  • Zip
  • Country
  • Expiration Date
  • Phone
  • Fax
  • EIN
  • Website Address
  • Business Summary

At any time, you have the ability to deactivate a "user" which would prevent them from being able to login. Similarly, you will be able to add users at any time. If you select the "E-mail login information on next activation" and then publish the record, the client will be automatically sent a "Congratulations you have been approved…." e-mail with their login and password.

If they are not already approved, users can complete a simple online form that will be e-mailed to you for your review and approval. After you approve the user, an e-mail will be automatically sent to them with a standard "Congratulations you have been approved…..Your login and password are….." The users will be able to enter their e-mail address to have their password e-mailed to the address. If it is an invalid (not published) e-mail address, a message will be displayed asking them to contact you directly for assistance.
