Calendar of Events Editor - General Tab

1) Event Name: (required)

Enter a name for your event

ex. "Sunday Fundraiser"

2) Add to Outlook:

Click this check box if you would like to have an 'Add to Outlook' icon displayed so your visitors can add this event to their Microsoft Outlook email program.

3) Web Address:

Enter the web address of an external link that you would like your visitors to visit to get more information.

Click on the checkbox to open the link in a new window.

ex. You may want to provide the web address to a trade show that your company is participating in.

4) Categories: (required)

Select a category from the list to attach this event to it. If no categories are listed click 'Add, Edit, Delete categories...'. A Categories Editor will pop-up.

1)Action:

This is defaulted to 'Add Category', but if you already have categories then you can select if from the drop down list to modify it.

2) Name: (required)

Enter a name for your new category or if you are renaming a category.

3) Description:

Enter a brief description for the category.

4) Click 'Submit' or 'Cancel' to continue to exit editor.

End Categories Editor

5) Start Date: (required)

Enter a start date - clicking inside of this box automatically displays the calendar where you can click on the date.

6) End Date: (required)

Enter a end date - clicking inside of this box automatically displays the calendar where you can click on the date.

7) City:

Enter the city the event is being held in. The text is presented on your site exactly as it is entered.

8) State/Province:

Enter the state or province the event is being held in. The text is presented on your site exactly as it is entered.

ex. NC or North Carolina is acceptable

9) Short Description:

Enter a short description of the event. This description will be shown in the event listing.

10) Full Address:

Enter the address of the event.

Note: Pressing 'Enter' in this field will create a double space. To avoid this, at the end of your line press the 'insert line break' button in the editor. The button has a small 's' and a arrow pointing to the left.

11) Long Description:

Enter the full description of the event. This description will be displayed when your visitor clicks on the event. They can click on the name of the event or on 'click here' next to 'For more information,' in the event listing.

12) Click on 'Create This Record' / 'Save Changes' to save the event.

Note: If you are creating a new event you will now see more editing tabs have appeared at the top of the page.
